🗒️ Lesson Plan
Anticipatory Set
Students will take out their graphic organizers from the previous lesson. They will swap with a partner and check over the partner's work, using the following criteria:
- Did they restate and answer the question?
- Did they spell anything incorrectly? Make any grammatical errors?
- Did they follow the proper format for integrating quotations?
- Signal Phrase + Comma + Quote + (Page Number) + Period
The teacher should emphasize that the class is early in the writing process and any completed work is "in progress" — swapping with a partner is meant to help each other do a great job.
The teacher will take attendance as students work. Once sufficient time has been provided, the class will review the agenda and objectives.
Developmental Activity
Students will have the remaining class time to finish their graphic organizers and type up a finished paragraph. The teacher will circulate to conference with students and assist them in the writing process. Students who finish early will be encouraged to swap paragraphs with a peer to edit and workshop.
