Summative Assessment - Short Story Project

To close out the unit, students will write their own original short stories, then analyze a story written by a peer.

Students will begin by completing Short Story Project (Part 1), which assists them in planning their story. They will submit the planner and a finished, typed story.

Students will then read a peer's story; the teacher should select a few exemplar suggestions. Students will write two RACECE Paragraphs analyzing the theme and the tone in their selected story. Graphic organizers are provided here: Short Story Project (Part 2).
