Point of View Practice
We read about the encounter between the greasers and the Socs from Ponyboy’s perspective. Let’s step into someone else’s shoes. Rewrite the encounter in Chapter 3 (44-46) from either Johnny’s point of view or Cherry’s point of view. You will need to imagine (and include) details, thoughts, and emotions that the character might be experiencing in that moment, just as we learn about Ponyboy’s thoughts and feelings as he narrates the action of the book.
Use the section of the book as a reference. You can reuse some of the dialogue and details, but you must also be creative! Use what you know about the character’s history, experiences, and perspective.
