Opening Days
As the name implies, this short unit outlines how I begin the school year. The content of some of the lessons is specific to me, but I provide these lesson plans with new teachers in mind; when I first started, it was helpful to see how others structure their classrooms and how they establish classroom routines and procedures. I dedicate several class days to these opening procedures because I find, especially in middle school, that establishing clear, consistent routines and procedures preempts issues down the line.
